Zaragoza skylines and views, riverfront- Torre Zaragoza, Torre del Agua, World Trade Center, El Pilar, Seo, Ebro
Zaragoza is known as a lowrise city with mostly historical buildings. The skyline of the historical center is dominated by the 4 towers (98m) and cupolas of the El Pilar and Seo cathedrals. Several other church towers in mudejar style can also be found. But when the Expo 2008 (World Fair) was held here, modern highrises were built in the West part, like World Trade Center (77 m), Torre del Agua (78m) and Torre Zaragoza (108m, 30 floors), a residential building that is the tallest highrise since 2022, surpassing Torre del Agua. The Expo, that had water as the theme, took part in the park Parque del Agua Luis Buñuel, where you find many futuristic modern buildings, like Palacio de Congresos de Zaragoza, with it’s weird shapes and a capacity of 1,400 people. Torre de Telecommunicaciones is a 108m tall TV tower in the Southwest outskirts, similar height as Torre Zaragoza, but not counted as a building. |
