Zagreb by night
- Upper Town, Lower Town, Jelacic Square, Ilica, Tkalčićeva Street, Zrtava Fasizima Square, National Theatre, Zagreb Cathedral, Park Zrinjevac
Zagreb's city center is especially beautiful after dark, with many illuminated historical buildings. The Cathedral, the National Theater and the buildings around Jelecic Square are some examples. The Society of Fine Arts is especially nice, since there is a red light from inside this circualr building. Some skyscrapers like the Strojarska Business Center have nice illuminations after dark.
Tkalčićeva Street is where you find most night clubs and restaurants and bars that are open late. During our visit in September it was dark around 7PM, but still warm enough to sit outside in open-air restaurants on Tkalčićeva for example.
As we visited Zagreb during the pandemic it is hard to decide how vibrant the city is, but while walking around in the Lower Town, on Ilica and around the central Jelacic Square, lots of people were out late even on weekdays. The Upper Town was more quite, except for
Tkalčićeva.
