Toronto by night- Yonge St, Dundas Square, CN Tower, Harbourfront, Queens Quay, Aura at College Park, Comfort HotelAs Canada's largest city, Toronto offers a vibrant and extensive nightlife. There are many famous rock clubs, like Fillmore and Massey Hall for example. The Financial District is dead after office hours, but the area around Yonge St and Dundas Square is very vibrant. At Dundas Square you will find neon lights, huge illuminated billboards, restaurants like Hard Rock Café and rock concerts. Sometimes music festivals are held there. Yonge Street, one of the world's longest streets, is the place where we stayed, at Comfort Hotel. The most central part, from Dundas and North, is very vibrant at night. Here you find cheap restaurants and stores that are open late. Queen St W is also a nice place to go at night. Because we visited summertime (in June) it turned dark very late, so that is why we only have night pictures from a few areas: Dundas Square, Yonge Street, Harbourfront and CN Tower. Many structures are illuminated at night; CN Tower was illuminated in blue colours, and at a special occasion shifted in rainbow colours due to the Pride festival. The dome of Roger Centre is also illuminated, often in blue. The lights of the skyscrapers are lit at night. Some of them, for example Aura at College Park, has stripes of neon lights at the top. The large Toronto sign at Nathan Phillips Square, between the old and the new city hall, is illuminated at night. |
