Toronto Big Bus sightseeing tour
- Yonge Street, Financial district, Dundas Square, Distillery district, St Lawrence, Casa Loma, Bloor St, Spadina Ave, John St, University, Royal Ontario Museum, St James Cathedral, St Michael's Cathedral
The first and second day we took the Big Bus tour with the double decker (old London buses) that gave us a good introduction to the city. Included in the price was a ferry tour to Toronto Islands, with the best views possible of the skyline, the green tranquil islands opposite downtown where there are almost no cars. The ticket lasted for two days and was really good value for money compared to bus tours in other big cities. The bus took us to all big sights; like CN Tower, Old Toronto, Spadina Ave, Casa Loma that is a bit away from the city center, and much much more. We saw skyscrapers, cathedrals, restaurants, trams, bars
The only con was that the first time we caught the bus, it was so crowded that there was only seating on the first deck, but after taking the ferry trip there were empty seats on the roof. On the other hand it was almost too hot and sunny to sit on the roofless second deck for a long time.. Some of these old London double deckers are not in the best condition either, at one occasion the engine of our bus broke down, however luckily enough only one meter from our destination; St Lawrence's Market. Anyway he tour is highly recommended, the price is fair and you really see a lot in a short time!
