Shinjuku Gyoen- National park in Shinjuku and Shibuya wards
Shinjuku Gyoen is a very beautiful park and national garden in Shinjuku, partly in Shibuya. It features a Japanese garden, a French garden and an English garden. The park has an entrance fee and views of Shinjuku’s skyscrapers. It has been a public park since 1949, but was originally a residence of the NaitÅ family in the Edo period. The park is 58.3 ha large, and offers about 20 000 trees, of which 1500 cherry trees that blossom in spring, and has been featured in a Japanese anime film. The garden was close to our first hotel, Listel Shinjuku. |
