- Skyline and views
Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, that includes the City Hall of Tokyo, was Japan’s tallest building for 2 years and tallest building in Tokyo 1991-2007. It is resembling both a computer chip and a gothic cathedral with its two towers. In each of its towers is a free observation deck that we visited, with impressive 360 degrees views of Tokyo. The building was completed in 1991 and was designed by Kenzo Tange. It measures 242m to the top of its towrers, and features 48 floors. There is also a lower similar 34-storey skyscraper next to it.
