KUMU
ESTONIAN ART MUSEUM

This large, modern and recently built Estonian art museum KUMU is situated right next to the Kadriorg Park. It is the main building of Art Museum of Estonia, that is focused on Estonian art, and the largest museum in the Baltics. The building was completed in
2006 and was designed by the Finnish architect Pekka Vaapavuori. It has a striking design with sharp angles, integrating with the surrounding greenery in the park. It has permanent and temporary exhibitions, a contemporary art gallery, an auditorium and educational activities. The permanent part of the museum shows Estonian art from the 18th century to the 1990s. In 2008 it received the "Museum of the year" award. It was perfect to visit this museum this rainy Saturday.
