Sopot beachfront
|
The backside of the Hotel Zhong Hua resort (that where pictured at the promenade) here faces the beach | A good day for windsurfing and boat racing | Sopot Pier |
GRUNWALDZKA: Grunwaldzka is one of the major streets of Sopot's city center, and is pretty picturesque. It is parallel with the shoreline (though the beach is not visible from the street). Here you fine nice art nouvaux mansions, hotels and cafés mixed with more dull unpainted buildings. It leads to the main square, Skwer Kuracyjny, and the main road, Monte Cassino. |
PARK MARRII I LECHA KACZY´NSKICH (Park of Maria and Lech Kaczynski Polish President and the First Lady): This small, but nice park was originally named South Park but was renamed in 2010 by the City of Sopot to April 16, 2010. South Park. Renamed during the extraordinary session of the Council of the City of Sopot to "Park of Maria and Lech Kaczynski Polish President and the First Lady", dedicated to the memory of those killed in the crash near Smolensk, among them the Polish president. |
ALEJA WOJSKA POLSKIEGO (AVENUE OF THE POLISH ARMY): This is a nice pedestrian passage, lined with trees. It goes parallel with the beach. |
