Wijnhaven and Oude Haven THE CUBE HOUSES, HET WITTE HUIS Wijnhaven is an old harbour in the city center of Rotterdam. It is connected to Leuvehaven, that has its own page and Oude Haven, the Old Harbour. At these 2 harbours you can find Het Witte Huis, Europe's first "skyscraper", and Kubuswonung, The Cube Houses with it strange architecture, as well as pubs and ships around the harbour. It is situated between the busy roads Blaak and Maasboulevard. The skyline of Wijnhaven and Blaak seen from Willemsbrug.
Het Witte Huis was built in 1898 in beaux arts style and has 11 floors. It is a National Heritage site, inspired by American buildings. It is one of the few buildings that survived the bombings.
Oude Haven (Old Harbour) contains some ships, highrises and the famous Cube Houses as well as Het Witte Huis. “Stockholm” restaurant! It lies next to the water in Ode Haven.

Blaaktoren from 1984 is a highrise that is connected to the cube houses. It has a similar design. The tram pass underneath the cube houses. An apartment building in similar style next to the Kubuswonung.
