Onsala- Gottskär, Kungsbacka, Halland
Onsala is a peninsula and wealthy town south of Gothenburg, in Halland County (bordering Västra Götaland County where Göteborg is). It is part of Kungsbacka Municipality (pop. 83 000), bordering the small city of Kungsbacka (pop. 19 000). It takes about 30min to central Gothenburg by train from Kungsbacka. Onsala is facing Kattegatt and the beautiful Gothenburg archipelago. In Onsala, you find large residences, a white church, a small boat marina and a ship museum. Gottskär is a beautiful town that is included in the Onsala locality. Onsala means "the Hall of Oden" and was an important place for the vikings. Onsala is home to the Onsala Space Observatory, opposite the town. |
