Gamla Väster is Malmö's Old Town, the west part of the city center that is located between Stortorget and Kungsparken. Its small historical buildings host architects, art galleries, advertizing agencies, small hotels and cafés. Many houses have recently been refurbished in the late 80s and the area is once again hip. But unlike Stockholm's Old Town, there are almost no stores in Malmö's Gamla Väster.
