Luxembourg outskirts
- Stareplaz, Parc Municipal, Villa Vauban, South Luxembourg
itHE The outskirts of Luxembourg City is mostly less dramatic then the central parts with its old buildings and plateaus overlooking a valley. There is a modern structure in the Southernmost end called Ban de Gasperich Water Tower. Kirchberg is a modern highrise district between the ciyt center and the outskirts. Outside the city center, you find beautiful green mountains and valleys and you can reach Germany, France, Belgium and Netherlands within less then one hour.
On my the first visit to Luxembourg I stayed at the Pfaffenthal district belowe the city center. From there I took a glass elevator up to a funicaular that took me to the Kirchberg CBD. From there I took a futuristic and free lightrail tram to Stäreplaz, where I walked to the city center, through Parc Municipal, where you find Villa Vauban, an art museum with 18th and 19th century paintings.
