Hong Kong Island South - Repulse Bay, Aberdeen, Deepwater Bay

The South part of Hong Kong Island is where you find exotic places like Repulse Bay, Stanley, Aberdeen and Deepwater Bay. It has a very cosmopolitan feeling, and reminds a lot of Southern Europe. The double decker takes you through a very scenic and sometimes shaky ride through green mountains with narrow winding roads, steeping towards the sea. Take bus 6x and choose a seat on the second floor, in the front if possible. That was what we did and the photos below were taken from it. On the South part you will find Hong Kong's richest residences, luxury apatment buildings, mansions and nice beaches. Stanley is more down to Earth then Repulse Bay though.The south side is popular among rich people because it is less humid and much sunnier then the North side, thus the housing prices are the higheset in HK. In Aberdeen you will find Ocean Park, the large theme park that was our goal for today, and the famous floating Jumbo restaurant. In Repulse Bay you will find Hong Kong's most popular beach, as well as tall hotels and residential buildings.

Two very tall (220& 252m) residential buildings, often referred to as "The Chopsticks", stand on a very high hill in Mid-Levels district. The tallest of these two was built in 2003 and has 73 floors!
