Ocean Park, Aberdeen - Asia's largest amusement parkOcean Park, the largest theme park in Asia, is situated in the small port town of Aberdeen in South Hong Kong Island, with themes of the sea and animals. It has more then 80 attractions and is one of the 50 most visited attractions in the world and the world's 7th most popular amusement park! It opened in 1977 and is more local in style then for example HK Disneyland, the vast majority of the visitors are Chinese or HK residents. It is famous for its thrilling cable cars that takes visitors from The Summit to The Highland on the other side of Ocean Park, above the mountains and the sea. Some of the four rollercoasters are situated right next to the steep, next to the sea! Unfortunately the park closes already at 7 in the evening, and attractions close already at 6. A big disappointment after paying 350HK$ in entrance fee. It is really strange that they close a large amusement park so early. It takes a lot of time to get there (wait for buses etc), so after Stanley we just managed to spend about 2 hours there! Fortunately, we managed to take a ride in one of the cable cars, see the giant panda, the oceanarium with sharks and to eat. Except for amusement park, Ocean Park also serves as a park for entertainment and education.
