The German Football Museum (Deutsches Fussballmuseum) stands right opposite the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) in Dortmund's city center. It opened in 2015 and is the largest and most famous museum in Dortmund. It is the national museum for German football, Dortmund was chosen as the city to build it. It is located in a futuristic glass building with long escalators, that tells the story about now only German football but also international football, about games and persons. Interesting objects as the UEFA Cup Football, a LEGO stadium, models posters etc and on the ground floor there is a small football stadium. The architect bureau HPP Hentrich-Petschnigg + Partner was chosen to design the building. The museum is interesting to visit even if you are not into football.
