Bucharest has a vibrant nightlife. At night there is a lot of traffic and many people are out at night, even on weekdays. Many of the landmarks are illuminated at night, and at Piata Unirii (Unirii Square), there are grandiose fountains, shifting lights magically. There are also neon signs with advertisement. In the Old Town, the nightlife is especially vibrant, with a lot of people walking around and sitting at outdoor seatings having drinks and diner, often loud music is playing. We stayed at the legendary 5-star highrise hotel Grand Hotel Bucharest (formerly InterContinental), where we had amazing views of Bucharest at night, and at sunset.
