Central Benidorm
- City Centre, Playa de Levante (Central part), Avenida de Madrid, Avenida de Mediterraneo, City Hall Square
The city centre of Benidorm mostly looks like rest of the city with its tall modernist buildings. But there is one part, just around the rock Cala Mal Pas, mostly in the Old Town, that is more small scale and is filled with hilly lanes, small shops and lowrise buildings (see it's own seciton). The City Hall (Ayuntamiento), a futuristic boxy building that seems to be hovering above the ground, is situated at the large City Hall Square. Here you also find the postmodern park Aiguera Park that has a lot of palms and 2 amphitheaters (one small and one large). The long and fine Playa de Levante (Levante Beach), that is the most popular among tourists and has a nice promenade (Avenida de Madrid), stretches to the East of the city centre, while Playa de Poniente (Poniente Beach), that is the most popular among locals, stretches to the West. The high rock Cala Mal Pas divides it, where you find terraces with incredible views. Avenida de Mediterraneo goes from the city centre to the East part.
