Barcelona City is the second largest city of Spain and the largest city of Catalonia. It is situated by the sea and has many beaches, it is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It is known for its modernista architecture, many famous buildings were designed by Antoni Gaudi, such as the gothic church Sagrada Familia, Casa Mila and Casa Batllo in the famous Eixample district. Park Guell is a famous park with Gaudi structures. The city has many squares and fountains, such as Placa de Catalunya and Placa d'Espanya. The most famous pedestrian street and entertainment area is La Rambla. Barcelona has many avenues and boulevards, such as Avinguda Diagonal, but also historical small scale quarters, such as Barri Gotic (Gothic Quarters) and Gracia. There are two mountians, Montjuic, and Tibidado, with views over the city. On top of Tibidabo stands the tallest structure, Torre de Collserola. Lately also skyscrapers have been built, such as Torre Glories, Hotel Arts and Torre Mapfre. Barcelona is known for its vibrant nightlife, beaches and world class museums. MY EXPERIENCE:

We visited Barcelona in summer 2004 and spring 2023. It was constantly sunny, and in the summer it is very hot.
