Vondelpark Vondelpark is a 47 hectar large park situated in the fasionable Oud-Zuid district, just south of the city center, near Museumplein. There are lakes, restaurants, a playground, a Picasso sculpture, a film museum and an open air theater in the park. The park opened in 1867 and was named after the poet Joost van der Vondel. I visited Vondelpark already the first day, since it was very warm. A lake in the Vondelpark. The Filmmuseum (Eye, there is also a very modern, larger branch in the harbour) and a restaurant, located in a 19th century pavilion. Beautiful residences for rich people are surrounding the park. A bridge above a river in the park. Vondelpark is a nice place to relax a hot day like this. A lusthouse. Vondelpark is a nice area in Oud-Zuid (old south) with creeks and old buildings. |
