KLOVENIERBURGWAL, SINT ANTONIESTRAAT Old Town part 3 The Old Town, Binnenstad, is the heart of Amsterdam. The borders to Binnenstad is the Singelgracht canal in the south, east and west and the lake IJ and the harbour Ooosterdok in the north. It is where the old canal buildings are, as well as all famous squares and the central station. This is part 3, focusing on an area around Binnenamstel and Klovenierburgwal.
KlovenierburgwalKlovenierburgwal is a canal that is flowing at Amstel River, between Muntplein and Waterlooplein and ends near the central station. The Doelen Hoteland the "dancing houses" are in the area. The Doelen Hotel. A beautiful 4-star hotel where The Beatles have stayed. It is located at the Klovenierburgwal canal/River Amstel intersection at Muntplein. It has 85 rooms. "The Dancing Houses". These houses along the Klovenierburgwal canal were built supported by wooden stilts that lead them to wobble like dancing houses. Sint AntoniebreestraatSt. Antoniebreestraat is a street just west of Waterlooplein and the Jewish Quarters, just south of Nieuwmarkt. The gate leading towards the Zuiderkerkhof Square has 2 skulls! Zuiderkerk is a 17th century protestant church in renaissance style, between Nieuwmarkt and Waterlooplein, next to St Antoniestraat. Monet has painted the church and 3 of Rembrandt's children are buried here. Since 1988 it serves as an information center with a scale model of Amsterdam in 2020.
