Millennium Dome, Cutty Sark, Greenwich Market, Greenwich Meridian Line, University of Greenwich, Queens House
Greenwich is part of Docklands. In Greenwich you find the huge futuristic Millennium Dome from 1999, that hosted a large exhibition before the new millennium and now is the O2, that includes the O2 Arena, a shopping mall and an indoor entertainment avenue. The dome is opposite the old town center, with small scale British style buildings. In the town center you find the Greenwich Market, the historic ship Cutty Shark that burnt down since our first visit and was reconstructed and once again open to visitors, nice views of Docklands skyline, Queens House, the Royal Observatory, the majestic neo-classic buildings of Old Royal Naval College (University of Greenwich) and last but not least the Greenwich Meridian Time (GMT) in Greenwich Park where all time zones are measured from. Citated from GMT:s own website: "Greenwich, England has been the home of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) since 1884. GMT is sometimes called Greenwich Meridian Time because it is measured from the Greenwich Meridian Line at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich. It is the place from where all time zones are measured. Greenwich Mean Time is international time, the basis of the world time clock."
