Gran Hotel Bali:
Since 2002 you can find Europe's tallest hotel in Benidorm, the 4-star Gran Hotel Bali, in the West part of the city. That is also is Benidorm's tallest building and Spain's 5th tallest (tallest building in Spain outside Madrid, 2016). Bali has 776 rooms on 52 floors and is 210m to the top of the spire. There we stayed for one night, we had incredible views of all over the city from our room and balcony on the 25th floor (on the lower part of the main building)! The views from that balcony was the most incredible I have seen from a hotel room, including the whole skyline of Benidorm, the beach, the sea and the mountains with the sky changing at sunset and sunrise! And it is amazing to watch all these lights at night, while having a drink at the balcony. The double room itself was modern and quite large, but there was nothing special about the interior, typical Spanish standard room. Still nie, and the bed was comfortable. It featured a separate sofa, a desk and a flatscreen TV. There and enough of electric plugs, in contrary to the other hotels. The bathroom was special though, it had a special lightening where you can choose a special red light! And it featured a separate shower. Wi-fi costs extra. The lobby is spacious and modern, 2 stories high and features its own stores. There is a large pool area outside the hotel, something that can't be used wintertime since it is not heated (it really should have been). The hotel also has 2 bars, a spa game room, hair saloon and a business center.
There is an outdoor observation deck on top, but it was unfortunately closed due to strong winds! There are also glass elevators on the exterior of the main section building, but they where only accessible for some guests. I was a bit disappointed to find out that we had to use "normal" elevators with no views. We were also a bit disappointed that they placed the breakfast restaurant in the basement, with no views at all, in such a tall hotel. The breakfast itself was ok but could be more varied (too much cookies and fat sausages, more vegetables needed). We got a great deal during low season and it is really a memorable hotel to stay at! A building that can be seen from all over the city. There is even a tour of the hotel that can be taken on Fridays, something we missed.
We parked our car at the underground garage (12 euro extra a night), that was a bit chaotic since delivery trucks where backing out at the same time we tried to enter, and it was very hilly and narrow. The lots were extremely small and couldn't even fit small cars, so all cars have to use at least two lots each!
